Rough Rider ThunderStreak

Is the answer to the question, “Does Rough Rider make tactical knives?”

Yes, it is a linerlock, assisted opening knife with black aluminum handles and a partly black coated 440stainless steel clip point style blade with steel liners.  You will need to resharpen more frequently with this steel, but if you can sharpen it should be no problem. The knife comes in a plain edge style, and is tip down only for carry.  The pocket clip is not coated and does allow the knife to ride low in the pocket. I would have preferred a black pocket clip, but it is stainless steel. Also would have preferred a slightly smaller pocket clip, but those are small problems for what is just a fun knife.

When closed the blade centering on this knife is perfect as is the lockup. Overall the appearance of this knife is quite striking. There is even some jimping on the back of the knife if your thumb moves up on the knife. For ease of carry and use there is a lanyard hole for your paracord.

All this on a knife that sells for under $10.00. Yes, quite a pricepoint and I look for more of this style from Rough Rider, the in house brand of Smoky Mountain Knife Works.  Long known for many traditional pattern knives, Rough Rider has branched out to other styles. For an EDC that you won’t be afraid to lose in the field, try the Rough Rider Thunder Streak.
